Meet Our Team
FOUNDER + PHYSICAL THERAPIST
Dr. Ashley Romine, DPT
Ashley always knew she wanted her work to make a difference in people’s lives. She started out on the pre-med track, planning to take the MCAT. But quickly realized the traditional model of medicine, filled with quick appointments, prescriptions, and surgeries, left little room to connect with people. Interested in the body’s healing power, she turned to holistic health and learned about physical therapy.
After earning her Biology degree at the University of Alabama, Ashley began working in clinics. There, she gained experience before pursuing her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. She also met her husband, David, during her time in Alabama. There, she fell in love with the power of hands-on care. Over the next decade, she worked in large orthopedic clinics and home health. But something always felt off. Seeing patients go through fast, standard exercise routines with little personal care made her realize this wasn't the healing she wanted to offer.
After her second child, Ashley took a step back, reevaluated, and decided to build the kind of practice she had always dreamed of. In 2018, she began shaping what is now The Well Co., A space where every patient gets one-on-one, hour-long care designed specifically for them. Today, she helps active adults overcome pain and movement challenges so they can keep doing the things they love. Running marathons, lifting at CrossFit, or chasing their kids around the backyard.
When she's not at the clinic, you can find Ashley in the garden, supporting her kids' hobbies, or working out hard. Her goal is simple: to help people feel strong, confident, and capable in their bodies again.

FOUNDER + PHYSICAL THERAPIST
Dr. Meghan Teed, DPT
Physical therapist, scoliosis specialist, and founder of Mindful Movement Physical Therapy and Scoliologic.
Doctors discovered Meghan’s scoliosis at age 11 during a gym class screening. After an X-ray, the doctor told her it wasn’t severe enough to treat and that they would just monitor it. Meghan had a visible curve as she grew up and often wore baggy sweatshirts to hide it. She knew there had to be more. Years later, a Pilates instructor noticed her spine in a way doctors hadn’t. She showed her how to stand, move, and live free from pain and fear. That experience motivated Meghan to focus on scoliosis care. She wants to help others feel the same relief and confidence that others gave her.
Meghan earned both her BA in Psychology and her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Pittsburgh. Since then, she has focused on specialized training. She earned certifications in the Schroth Method from Scoliosis Spine Online Learning. She also studied visceral and neural manipulation at the Barral Institute. Meghan combines her extensive clinical knowledge with a desire to find root causes. She focuses on more than just symptoms or X-rays. Since then, she's helped 200+ women from all over the world– women who've tried everything and nothing worked.
When Meghan isn’t helping people move better and feel stronger, she’s usually chasing her corgi-Aussie mix, Guaran, around the neighborhood. Or trying (and sometimes failing) to keep up with her husband on the golf course. She’s also the personal servant to their cat, Certain, who’s convinced every drink in the house belongs to her.

PHYSICAL THERAPIST
Dr. ALEX BROWN, DPT
Alex first discovered physical therapy as a patient himself. Growing up as a pitcher, he struggled with elbow and shoulder injuries that required rehab. That experience showed him that healing could be active, hands-on, and personal. It also sparked an idea that he can build a career helping others the same way his therapist helped him, while staying connected to sports.
He earned his degree in Exercise Science from the College of Charleston in 2021, then went on to complete his Doctorate in Physical Therapy at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in 2025. During his time as a PT tech and through multiple clinical rotations, Alex saw the difference quality care makes. He noticed that too often patients were treated like numbers on a chart rather than individuals with real lives and real goals. Outpatient orthopedics became his passion, and The Well Co. became his home because it gave him the chance to provide one-on-one care, the kind that treats every patient like family.
Outside the clinic, Alex is a husband to his college sweetheart and a proud dog dad to their two pups. He loves his days off to start with strong coffee and a round of golf, followed by strolling through Charleston, grabbing sushi, and capping it all off with milkshakes and game night with friends. He’s also a big college football fan (go Dawgs!) and never passes up a chance to spend time with his favorite people.

CLINICAL COORDINATOR
Valerie McGuire
Valerie’s the kind of person who brings energy and heart to everything she does. She’s always loved fitness. It keeps her in shape and helps her feel clear-headed and ready for daily life. She brings this same energy behind the scenes, creating beautiful marketing materials and keeping our office running smoothly.
Valerie served in the Marine Corps for 20 years. Her experience gives her a rare blend of discipline and creativity that’s often missing in a PT office. She has a degree in Multimedia Design and a master’s in Military Studies. However, her time in the Marines and the Lowcountry shaped her identity.
Valerie believes movement is medicine for the whole person, body, mind, and soul. And this makes her the perfect addition to our practice. When she’s not scheduling patients or building strength in her own workouts, Valerie’s probably outside on a trail before sunrise, coffee in hand and sneakers laced. She’s a lover of spontaneous adventures like picking a new town on the map, checking out quirky roadside stops, or adventuring with her husband, Greg, and their daughter, Grace. Valerie brings the same joy, discipline, and wholeheartedness to life that she brings to our practice every day.
